Looking for …

… a Rosary recording on CD or one that is a downloadable MP3 file …

Can anyone recommend to me a good-quality recording of the Rosary? I would like to have one in my iPod, so that I can listen/pray the Rosary while I practice knitting. Since I’m such a newbie at this craft, I think it would be helpful to listen/pray along with something, so that I don’t have to worry about counting my prayers and counting my stitches!
There are so many Rosary recordings out there, when I looked online and on iTunes, and I didn’t know which ones were good and enjoyable to listen to.
If you have one that you like, please let me know! Thank you!

  1. I know this doesn’t help at all, but my favorite recording is one done by our youth group in 2005. It was a fundraiser for World Youth Day. It’s only the Joyful mysteries, but the meditations are wonderfully done. The voices of each youth in the group make the recording extra special – and I don’t even know all the kids. I have downloaded it to my MP3, so I can listen to it on my weekly 100 mi. trips. I look forwarad to seeing the other suggestions you receive.

  2. This will help! My favorite and the one I always listen to in the van every time we go anywhere, is free from the Mary Foundation.

There are wonderful CD’s and they are donation only, or free, if people can’t afford that.

The Confession one is super, The Scott Hahn story is super, well, they all are.

The rosary one is announced as: the first mystery is the Annunciation, the Baptism of our Lord, the Agony in the Garden, the Ressurection and you just in your head keep track of which mystery you are on. There is no distracting music, it’s just the rosary. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is also included afterward.

Another CD I enjoy with music is by Dana and Father Scanlon, it’s beautiful, but I tend to just listen and forget where I am because of the singing.

When I taught myself to pray the rosary, I really liked the ones without music, to concentrate on what I was praying.

Also, for the kids, “The Rosary for Little Children” a DVD has the Joyful mysteries and it is really fun and I love watching it with the kids! (some of the Our Fathers and Hail Mary’s are sung) I found it at Catholicfamilycatalog.com but I’m sure it’s everywhere. I found it at a local Catholic store.

    Hope that helps!

Cute toothless girl!! That’s such a fun time!

  3. rosary army has several already on itunes podcasts. and they are free.
they are very nice, you can get ones that just pray the mysteries, and ones that have scripture verses to meditate on for each Hail Mary. 🙂
