The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, \u201cLet the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.\u201d After he placed his hands on them, he went away.\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 19:13-15)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When I first suspected that my daughter might have a learning disability, like Dyslexia, I wasn\u2019t really sure what to do. I felt overwhelmed, as I thought about the unknown path we were going to have to journey down. What would it include? How would it make my child feel? What would be the positive opportunities that were awaiting our discovery?<\/p>\n<p>In a time of prayer, I remembered that my daughter was first and foremost God\u2019s daughter, and she was precious in His sight. She was created in His image and likeness, and her Dyslexia was part of who she was. It was a challenge, yes, but it was also a gift.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet the children come to me,\u201d Jesus says. And that is exactly what I did. I trusted that God was taking care of this. He was walking this journey with us, and in His plan of sheer goodness for my daughter, He would use her Dyslexia for something special.<\/p>\n<p>I continue to place her in His hands every day, especially when I see the struggle and have to wipe away the tears. But also when I see the progress and the accomplishment shining in her eyes.
