On the Solemnity of St. Joseph …

On the Solemnity of St. Joseph …

… our son, Joseph, received his Chrismation! After his Baptism in the hospital, we knew that when Joseph was well enough, we would be able to complete his first sacrament at church. Well, with his special name-day being on the Solemnity of St. Joseph, we thought that would be the perfect day! Moments before, some family shots, in front of St. Joseph the Worker. The actual event. With that sweet-smelling oil. He received the white garment and the light of…

A Story of Baptism

A Story of Baptism

The diagnosis is clear. And so is the next step: Go to the hospital. Immediately. A wave of Divine strength rushes over me. I don’t break down nor do I feel faint. I stand strong for my son. With His strength. As I comfort my baby boy, I call my husband. I break the news to him. It is Friday morning, and he, of course, is at work. His response is calm, too. He must have received that same Wave….

Home

My baby boy came home yesterday afternoon. All of us are so happy to have him back. With us. On Monday, he really turned a corner. They brought his oxygen flow level down to 3. And then took him off of it altogether. If he could remain stable, without the oxygen, for 24 hours, he could go home. The big test was whether he could sleep at night, for a longer period of time, without assistance. And he did it!…

Update

Update

Just a brief update on Joseph … Yesterday, the doctors were able to bring his oxygen percentage down to 21% (the amount our regular air is at). He started at 50%, so this was a HUGE improvement. They also brought the flow level down from 5 to 4 and then 3 … This morning, Greg informed me that they are going to try and take him off of it all together, to see how he does! They may have to…

Prayer Request

Prayer Request

Yesterday, my baby boy was admitted to the hospital, after testing positive for RSV and Bronchiolitis. He is on high-flow oxygen and receiving the occasional nebulizer treatment. Without them, his breathing is just too labored, so these things are definitely helping him, but he still has a ways to go. Even though this is a waiting game, the pediatrician predicted he would remain in the hospital until Tuesday or Wednesday. He is doing well, and he is where he needs…

All Wrapped Up

All Wrapped Up

Thank you all so much for your sweet congratulatory comments. And thank you for your prayers. My recovery is going as well as expected for a c-section. Joseph is doing beautifully, too. And the children are adjusting (with the anticipated ups and downs that go with that) … I originally had written the below post before Joseph was born. But I never got a chance to post it, due to his early arrival. So, I have revised it and am…

Mama Bee

For all expectant mothers … Just thought I’d share a product I recently discovered that is absolutely wonderful! This would make a very-much-appreciated Christmas gift, too.

Baby’s First Christmas Gift

Baby’s First Christmas Gift

It may have been called an eight-hour blanket. Perhaps I should have logged my knitting hours to determine if this is true—an hour here, an hour there. (Perhaps not.) But what I can safely say is that I knitted it in less than three weeks. Pretty quick for me. And I’m delighted with it ~ the pattern and yarn were great to work with. I love the Christmasy color and the pinwheel design. My Christmas baby’s first gift! I can’t…

September Status

September Status

New home: This is the month I have been waiting for. This is the month we move into our new home. Only weeks, days left. Yes, I am welcoming September with open arms for this reason alone. Time to pack (again): Today, I begin decluttering our townhouse in preparation for packing. We have lived without a lot for the past six months. Most of our belongings are in storage. But I have noticed that we have still accumulated unnecessary stuff,…
