Be Still: Letting God Fight For You
This is Day 2 in the 31-day series on resetting the rhythms of life. We are focusing this week on renewing our prayer life.
Today, let’s spend a little more time being still with God …
Scripture Reading
Take a few moments to quiet your heart. Breathe in and out.
Read today’s Scripture verse.
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.” —Exodus 14:14
After reading the verse once, read it one or two more times.
What stands out to you? A word, feeling, thought …
Journal Prompt
Is there something in life that you have been fighting, battling? Perhaps it is something big, like illness, financial stress, or family conflict. Or maybe trying to do it all yourself as taken a toll on you mentally and physically. How is it making you feel? Exhausted? Weary? Discouraged?
As you pray, place your battle in God’s hands, at the foot of His feet, on the altar of His sacrifice. How do you feel as you surrender? Is it a relief to let go? Or is it hard?
How do you see God fighting for you? What is it like to lean into His strength and know you don’t have to fight alone?
Be still, and rest in this.
Closing Prayer
Oh, Lord, how often do I actually sit still these days? And yet, in today’s Scripture passage, stillness seems essential for Your work in my life to be renewing and transformative. Thank You for this time to be still. Thank You for taking over, so that I can rest. Amen.

Too often I forget that I do not have to fight this battle alone.
Me, too, Catie. That is why I hope and pray that this series will encourage us to lean into the Lord … and also lean on one another!
